• Suresh, Perhaps use SMHP's provider search function to find practitioners in your geographic area whom you might want to meet up with. Then email and arrange a virtual tea. I find Doodle poll (free) very helpful for finding a time that works for all. Luckily, you can delete times that aren't working for folks, add more and then resend. I'd keep it to an hour and invite up to 11 so that everyone gets a chance to talk. Regular groups of 5-8 allow folks to bond but, I've met for years in a mastermind group of 2-3 as well. Having a peer facilitator / organizer really helps. Cecile

• Jessica - I've had great success organizing virtual meet-ups along the lines of masterminds & professional circles I've been in. Harvard Business School alumnae have been doing them for about 5 years and I inquired as to their guidance. Two is enough but 5-8 is ideal for bonding in a small group setting. Inviting up to 11 seems to get you enough regular attendees. If you are interested in facilitating a metabolic health professionals circle in your area then I'm happy to hop on a call and share what I've learned & remember from trainings. I'd start by using SMHP's fancy Provider search function and find folks who are in your referral range to start with. There is definitely a geographic group from Foxborough to Boston that should meet, but you might be looking for an adjacent group. My email is Cecile@MetabolicMultiplier.org. Similarly, you might choose folks in your discipline or another affinity group and meet monthly to quarterly.

• I like the one " self diabetes monitoring and management"- I think It suggests shared decision making, while giving the provider/patients flexibility to do it any way as long as some basics are adhered too...it does not seem very constraining, sounds inclusive :)

• Professionally I am an interior designer for a Big 10 university where I have spent my career on everything from helping facilities select waste cans to coordination of interiors and furnishings for major construction projects. Current responsibility is oversight for all things interiors for our 14,000 student residence hall system and the affiliated dining venues. I'm not sure what my role in this organization may be, but want to support the efforts. I believe it is vital to protect both professionals and those of us who want to practice a low-carb lifestyle.

• Doug Cook, RD used the term "Carbohydrate Controlled" dietary approach which may cause less of a reaction than restriction or reduction. My only concern for this use with colleagues is that if they look for literature on this, it would be harder to find.

• Preaching to the choir here. Most don't pay attention unless fasting glucose or A1c is a little off base. Likely most have not heard of HOMA-IR. Test is easily ordered and available. Unless screening labs do not show full blown DM there would be no urgency on the most part for them to test. We know this, but when the typical PCP has limited time and is pressured to move patients through, it probably won't be caught. That's why we're hear to change that!
