Biographical Information Dr. Don Agcopra is a board-certified adult neurologist and a Fellow of the Philippine Neurological Association (PNA). He first encountered low carbohydrate and whole-food nutrition and delved deeper into the biochemistry, physiology and pathology of metabolic health after he himself realized that he had developed Insulin Resistance/Metabolic Syndrome. With a very low carbohydrate ketogenic diet (VLCKD) regimen admixed with Intermittent Fasting (IF) as well as episodic high intensity interval training (HIIT) exercises, he successfully deprescribed himself from medications and managed to put all his Metabolic Syndrome manifestations into remission. As a neurology consultant seeing and getting referred a lot of stroke patients day in and day out, he eventually noted that the greatest majority of the patients he gets to encounter in his medical practice, particularly those belonging to the cerebrovascular disease spectrum, are mostly atherosclerosis-related complications related to the Metabolic Syndrome/Insulin Resistance. Following his own example and personal experience, he now manages a lot of his Metabolic Syndrome patients using medically-managed therapeutic dietary intervention with great success. He also publicly advocates for the remission of the Metabolic Syndrome, along with its associated manifestations of Type 2 Diabetes, Hypertriglyceridemia, Obesity and Hypertension, using non-pharmacologic therapeutic dietary interventions through his website (www.LowCarbHealthMD.com and www.LowCarbNeurologist.com), social media portals in YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, as well as Podcasts in Apple, Amazon Audible, Google, Anchor Spotify and Stitcher, all under the “Low Carb Health Doctor | LCHD” branding. He graduated from University of the Philippines - College of Medicine with a bachelor degree in Basic Medical Sciences (BS BMS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD), became a medical board examinations top-notcher, and subsequently trained in Adult Neurology at the Department of Neurosciences of the UP-Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH). He is currently based in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines.
